New Geography Studies at the University of Zadar

Abstract


Introduction of new geography studies at the Department of Geography at the University of Zadar enables and encourages the realization of new concepts in teaching, use of ECTS scores, more optional courses that suit the students' interests, improved quality and efficiency of classes etc. There is a particular improvement in terms of providing cartographic knowledge and skills through seven different compulsory or optional single-semester cartographic courses and other courses at these studies that enable the students to choose more or less cartographic themes. Compulsory cartographic courses are Introduction to Cartography, Applied Cartography and GIScience - Geoinformation Science. Optional cartographic courses are Geoinformatics, Multimedia Geography, Digital Cartography and Geomathematics (Mathematical methods in geography).
