Solemn Academy on the Occasion of Professor Emeritus Nedjeljko Frančula's 80th Birthday

On June 19, 2017, Croatian Cartographic Society and the Faculty of Geodesy of the University of Zagreb organized a solemn academy on the occasion of Professor Emeritus Nedjeljko Frančula's 80th birthday. After Prof. Dr. Damir Medak, Dean of the Faculty of Geodesy welcomed all the guests, two lectures were held:

-M. Lapaine: On Map Projections and Auxiliary Surfaces

-D. Tutić and A. Kuveždić Divjak: World Maps and the Winkel Tripel Projection

After the lectures, M. Lapaine read a brief biography of Professor Frančula, who thanked for the celebration and emphasized the key changes to cartography in recent years. Everyone in the audience congratulated Professor Frančula and there was also a small banquet.
