Abstract

After the International Cartographic Conference in Paris two years ago, we participated at the International Cartographic Conference in Dresden, Germany from August 25–30, 2013. This was the third time the International Cartographic Conference was organized in Germany. The previous two conferences were held in Frankfurt in 1962 and in Cologne in 1993.

The conference was organized by the German Cartographic Society (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kartographie e. V. – DGfK) and the International Cartographic Association (ICA). Main sponsors of the conference were Esri, ASTRIUM SAS, FARO Europe GmbH & Co. KG and Springer-Verlag GmbH.

The conference was held in the Congress Centre in Dresden on the coast of Elba. About 1400 people from all over the world participated in the conference. Croatia was represented by only eight people, with 4 oral presentations and 2 posters.
